Mercy Said No (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through mercysaidno.org, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Mercy Said No is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A., coordinating medical missions to underserved communities. You can contact us at info@mercysaidno.org.

Information we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us, plus the basic technical information any website receives.

  • Donations: your name, email address, donation amount and frequency, and any details the donation form asks for. Payments are processed by our payment provider (PayPal); we do not see or store your full card number.
  • Volunteer sign-ups: your name, email, phone number, location, volunteer type and role, previous missions, and anything you add in the notes, such as professional licence details.
  • Contact form: your name, email, optional phone number, topic and message.
  • Technical information: such as your IP address and browser type, recorded in server logs and used to keep the site secure and protect our forms from spam.

How we use your information

  • To process donations, send receipts and manage monthly gifts.
  • To reply to your messages and questions.
  • To review volunteer sign-ups and plan and coordinate our medical missions.
  • To keep financial and tax records as required by law.
  • To keep the website secure and working properly.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the organization, and only as needed:

  • our payment provider, to process donations;
  • our website host and email provider, which store and deliver our website and messages;
  • mission coordinators, who receive volunteer details only as needed to plan a mission.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and embedded content

Our website uses only the cookies needed for it to work, for example to keep a donation form running. We do not use advertising cookies.

Our videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube does not set cookies until you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies. The same is true when you follow our links to Instagram, X or YouTube.

How long we keep it

We keep donation records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes. We keep volunteer and contact details for as long as we need them to respond to you and coordinate our work, and we will delete them sooner if you ask.

How we protect it

Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to your information is limited to the people who need it. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, at any time. Email info@mercysaidno.org and we will respond as soon as we can.

Children

Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you are under 18, please have a parent’s or guardian’s permission before you sign up or contact us.
